ABE LENSTRA X COPA
Together with sc Heerenveen and the KNVB, COPA proudly presents the Holland ‘Abe Lenstra’ 1959 Retro Football Shirt, honouring one of Dutch football’s greatest players and his final appearance for Oranje.
On 19 April 1959, Lenstra took to the pitch at Amsterdam’s Olympic Stadium for his 47th and final international match. Facing Belgium, he scored his 33rd goal for Holland, closing his Oranje career in fitting style.
His international career spanned 19 years and 19 days, still the longest period between a first and final appearance for the Dutch national team.
For sc Heerenveen, Lenstra’s legacy goes far beyond statistics. A defining figure of the club and a footballing icon in Friesland, he drew supporters from across the country and helped secure Heerenveen’s place in Dutch football history.
Inspired by the shirt worn in his final international game, this cotton edition captures the simplicity of the era, with the historic KNVB crest and subtle references to Abe throughout the design.
A piece of Dutch football history, celebrating a legacy that still connects sc Heerenveen, Friesland and Oranje, bringing it to a new generation of supporters.
